Generator Hostels has hired LEWIS to handle its PR in the UK. Having focused largely on other marketing initiatives until now, Generator Hostels has turned to the global PR agency in order to ramp up coverage and build brand profile.
By appointing LEWIS, the hostel chain is looking to project itself as the obvious choice for travellers seeking budget accommodation that is both safe and comfortable.

LEWIS will deploy an effective and targeted campaign with the aim of driving web traffic and increasing bookings. A variety of tactics including event alerts, interviews, competitions and social media will be used to drive increased awareness of the company’s Berlin and London hostels.

“From the outset, LEWIS demonstrated a firm understanding of our business goals and it was evident that the team, having worked with similar online portals, has the required experience to take Generator Hostels to the next level. Our choice was an easy one and we’re confident that LEWIS is the right fit for our brand.”

Generator Hostels occupies a unique place in the 18–35 year old travel market, owning the second and third largest hostels in the world. Generator’s first hostel opened in London thirteen years ago, close to major tourist attractions such as the British Museum, British Library and Covent Garden.

“Generator Hostels is a great client to add to our increasingly diverse portfolio,” added Katy Lyons, director of UK account servicing at LEWIS PR. “The campaign will target young travellers from around the world who want to experience London and Berlin in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere – while not breaking the bank.”
