Account Executive

Summary
This is the most media focused role within a LEWIS PR account team. The role requires the ability to handle a number of projects at any one time, be able to respond quickly to journalist and/or team requests. The successful account executive will clearly understand the team’s requirements and objectives, be proactive in terms of delivering material and supportive to the team at all times.
Responsibilities
The account executive is effectively the press officer on a PR account. He or she is responsible for day-to-day media liaison, fielding journalist enquiries, managing resources such as photos and press kits and preparing materials for reporting back to the client.
Reporting Structure
The account executive reports directly to the account manager.

• Polished and professional appearance
• Good knowledge of media: print and broadcast
• Calmness under pressure and ability to deliver to tight deadlines
• Experience of producing and maintaining reports
• Professional and approachable telephone manner
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
• Flexible attitude
• Proven ability to keep abreast of current affairs and relate them to client situations
Specific Tasks
• Researching and placing features
• Maintaining status reports
• Preparing for meetings (agendas, status reports, cuttings books, contact reports)
• Handling all internal reporting
• Press office function for clients (fielding enquiries, responding to journalist requests, event support)
• Media relations (i.e. media targeting)
• Managing the pipeline of coverage
• Looking into forward features / response opportunities for clients
• Drafting press releases and pitching into the press
• Liaising with client contacts
• Forwarding coverage to clients
