LEWIS PR has launched a new training scheme within its UK operation. The LEWIS Employee Development Academy (LEDA) is the most comprehensive and interactive course of its kind in the UK PR industry.

The LEDA is underpinned by an intensive 18-month course, with three stages of development. The three stages: foundation; intermediate and advanced, are split into six-month modules which are based on a mix of theory, case study, in situ and external training cover a wide-range of topics including creative and media workshops, media talks, client meetings, marketing, events planning, pitching and international secondments across the LEWIS network. Each six-month module concludes with an assessment that must be passed in order to progress to the next stage.

Courses are held at a dedicated training suite in central London, with courses run by in-house experts including Michael Gonzalez, Will Sturgeon and John Broy. External secondments also form an important part of the training, with Mark Ward at BBC News Online already agreeing to accept participants.

“The launch of the LEDA programme demonstrates our commitment to those starting out in the industry and one that no one else offers at the moment. We believe that our training will become the industry standard and something people will join LEWIS to become part of.”
-- Kath Pooley, General Manager (UK) at LEWIS PR
‘’LEDA training has enabled me to learn, understand and practice all the skills that are required of a media relations officer.” Paul McCormick, one of the first recruits commented. “By taking part in such enthusiastic and interactive sessions you leave brimming with confidence, looking forward to the next time you can utilise the skills coached within the training”
