Media descending into ‘information chaos’ according to ‘Flat Earth News’ author

17 Apr 2008
Last night, Nick Davies, controversial author of ‘Flat Earth News’, described a media industry in danger of descending into ‘information chaos’. Speaking at ‘The Media Accused’ event at the LEWIS Media Centre, Davies said: "Our press is disappearing into a commercial black hole, and I can't see a solution."

The event, inspired by Davies’ controversial book, sparked a lively debate between other panellists Elisabeth Lewis-Jones – CIPR, Danny Rogers – PRWeek and Jon Bernstein – Channel 4 News.

The LEWIS PR event, hosted at the LEWIS Media Centre, opened the debate to an audience of more than 170 media professionals and covered topics including the decline of journalistic standards, who is to blame and the vulnerability of journalists to PR.
